Ever hear of ransomware? Like hospitals paying millions to cyber criminals for the decryption key to all their patients medical records and hospital data.

Just imagine if the custom tune you upload through the OBDII connection to your ECU contains ransomware, then when you try to start the engine, a message pops up on your display saying, to start your truck, call this 800 number to pay the fee to get the instructions to start your truck.

Far fetched perhaps, but...stranger things have happened.
