Yep. I tried the new firmware/software update and it didn't make any difference today.

Ever get a resolution for this @Huck. Mine still has the static. About ready to try some different mountain locations or get another one for the upcoming desert season.

I contacted gopro. They had me film myself making noise. Turns out my mic was fried and they sent me a new camera. Haven't used it since

Mine works fine when not associated with the vehicle. Maybe I just need to call them and see what they say.
