Dumb question about the amber lights

When I was driving home in rain with my lights on, yesterday, I could see their reflection on the back of the car in front of me. I couldn't see the 3 amber grill lights, though. When I park and open the door they are on. So the dumb question is: do the amber lights come on with the headlamps, or just when parked?

I believe they stay on if you turn just your parking lights on, but when the full lights are on they go out. Could be wrong though haven't really thought about it much.

on and off with the parking lights or auto lights. and they turn on when disarming or opening a door

I've found the vehicle in front not to be that reliable. I'm always looking to see if lights are working. But the marker lights should be on anytime any lights are on.

When my daytime running lights are on my ambers are not.

They are separate of the drl's.
