Picked up a quarter sized double star right in the middle of the windshield on the trip from durango back to vegas.

Im pretty sure its fixable but i started thinking about all the crazy shtuff i do in the truck and am now wondering if i should go all out for a new one.

Any thoughts?

I found a quote on fordparts.com for $256.00

Are the raptor shields the same size as a regular F-150? I might be able to search some junkyards if thats the case...

Thanks for any help!

I had Safelite repair mine. If it cracks they apply 100% of the repair cost toword a replacement windshield.

Good luck trying to get a used one. They are not designed to be removed in one piece. Not like the old rubber gasket days. Today's windshields are glued in place.

Same here...Safelite did a repair for me about a week ago after I got two rock indiced star breaks in a week's time. The smaller of the two is practically invisible which I half expected because it would all but disappear whenever the windshield was wet. The larger one is visible but significantly diminished.

I thought about an outright replacement but, this would mean having to deal with getting a new tollway express tag which is a royal pain in the ass and would add about $50 to the cost of replacing the windshielf by the time it was all said and done. I figured that since mine wasn't cracked other than the small nickle and quarter sized starbursts, I was better off repairing it. Besides that, if a crack spreads from either of those two chips, the $120 I paid for the repair is credited toward the new windshield.

Thanks for the info. We use safelight for our fire trucks so I called them up and got it fixed. Still noticeable but alot better now :). Lol I also asked for a quote on a new windshield and lo and behold it was $70 (repair price) over the lowest ford price I found so idk how great of a deal the warranty is but am glad it's fixed regardless....
