I recently did the MPHD also and I agree that a little yellowish tint to the shocks is well worth having them protected. Does anyone know how long the MPHD will last until I need to recoat everything? Living in the rust belt I have to do something or it will eat the truck.
If I were you, I'd apply one a year right before winter.

I used to the HDMP under the truck. Sprayed all the threaded bolts from rusting. And shocks

Hard to tell from pic. But if not to bad definitely gonna do it this weekend. Cans came in today.

I use Fluid Film. After 3 winters on my '12 there were no signs of rust or oxidation. I just applied it on the '14... If you spray it on too thick it will yellow a bit, but dries clear.
