Hi All,

I have a DMH electric cutout, and Hennessey Performance sent me their "control module" to allow me to use it with one of the AUX switches.... unfortunatley (even thought I told Hennessey I was using a DMH cutout), they sent me a Quick-Time-Performance control module and the two are incompatible!

So I have to return it to Hennessey!

So, I'm going to have to simply install the DMH cutout with their switch as is...

-------------------------

xBX, when you installed your switch like this:

Where did you tap the red wire into 12V power? Was the gray DMH cord long enough to reach the interior cabin? How did you get the gray power cord into the cabin? Where did you ground the black wire?

--------------------------

I also so another picture here where a member mounted the DMH cutout switch on the back side (facing forward) of the AUX switch panel... it was stealthy, you couldn't see the switch, but it was easily found by your fingers... so how do I find a 12V switched wire for the red wire and then ground the black wire?

Again, how do I get the gray power cord through the floor of the truck into the cabin?

-----------------------------

Thanks, Mark

I found some small 1/2-3/4" openings in the floor of the truck that look like I could pass a wire through and run it under the carpet... is this how you get the gray wire into the cabin?

If so, I was thinking that some simple duct tape over that opening underneath would keep the water out for the most part... might require some occasional replacement though?

Mark, I did not wire it or install the cutout. I had a local shop, G and S Muffler in Marietta to do the work.

The grey wire was long enough and I believe he sent me extra wire.

I am away from my car until Monday so I can investigate more for you and have your answers.

Taking the cutout right now to the Midas shop to weld the Y pipe in place... I already have the wire run under the truck and ready to go.

I came up through one of those small 1/2" holes in the floor below the driver's side... I called DMH and they told me its as simple as just finding a 12V hot wire and splicing into it... run the ground into any screw that attaches to a frame.

DMH told me that they tapped into one of the wires below the seat.

My buddy owns the local RadioShack, I'm stopping there first to borrow his volt meter to find a hot wire.

Should be LOUD and PROUD by this afternoon :)

I installed the K&N CAI this morning... the exhaust is significantly louder with just that mod! I'm talking like twice as loud at WOT. So it would stand to reason that the cutout would be louder too :)

Hey, as for tapping into 12V power... my buddy wasn't working at RadioShack today, but I did pick some of these up:

I'm going to use these wire taps to tap into a hot wire... there's a ton of wires under the steering wheel, surely the odds are that one will be hot.

FWIW, The guys at the local Midas did the cutout install and wiring... they did a great job!

They tapped into 12V power on the back of the OBDI port.
