Default OBS 1994 F-150 Prerunner Build
It's not a Raptor, but I'm sure you guys will still enjoy a build thread on my rig.

It started out about 4.5 years ago as a bone stock 1994 F-150 2wd with the 302 and 99,800 miles. Here's a pic of it the day I took delivery:

Fast forward to today, the current build sheet reads something like this:

Front Suspension:

Camburg 4.5" over custom beams, heimed radius arms, custom coilover towers with 12" stroke Fox 2.5" coilovers with DSC adjustable resis, and 2" stroke Fox air bumps. I've got it strapped conservatively at 16-17" of travel. Custom single swing steering from Richer Racing.

I also replaced the stock knuckles/wheel bearings with Camburg uniball knuckles with their 2.25" billet race hubs.

Rear Suspension:

Richer Racing 64" spring under leaf springs/hangers/shackles with Fox 3.0 Raptor bypasses. Strapped at right around 17-18" of travel.

Fiberglass:

Autofab all the way around. 5" flare front fenders with custom mounts/aluminum wheel wells. 6" rear bedsides.

Rear axle:

Camburg full floater Ford 9" with their 2.25" billet race hubs. 5.13 gears with a 35 spline Detroit locker. Strange case with daytona pinion support.

Interior is pretty stock, with a set of Mastercraft Baja RS reclining bucket seats.

Front and rear bumpers are custom built by Richer Racing in Oceanside, CA.

6" Baja Designs Squadron XL lights up front, a Squadron Pro amber dust light out back. 2 Rigid flush mount pods in the rear bumper.

Anything that can be unbolted from the truck is powder coated, or sprayed with LineX.

Future plans are for a cab cage, and possibly punching that through the firewall and doing an engine cage as well, but that's probably another year out. In the immediate future, I'll be getting the fenders and bedsides painted to match the rest of the truck, and then shot with LineX on the backside.

Here are a few pics along the way showing the various stages of the buildup.

Bent beam kit with Camburg coil buckets and 2.5" x 10" Sway-away shocks.

Then slapped some 35's on there:

Slapped some Deaver F53's and 10" stroke Bilstein 9100's on the rear of the truck:

Then slapped on the 4.5" over Camburg beams:

Then took the truck out to Lucerne to watch a race and see how it did in the dirt. Right outta the box it ran pretty good.

There's always room for improvement, so it was time to ditch the coil springs and shocks in favor of some coilovers:

Then decided to slap some Walker Evans beadlocks on there:

Got the truck out in the dirt again out at Ocotillo, and was really happy with the performance after upgrading to coilovers and air bumps.

Next up was time for front and rear bumpers, as well as fender supports and aluminum wheel wells. As always, the boys at Richer Racing killed it. I can't recommend these guys enough. Top notch work!

Got all that powder coated and reinstalled:

Then stepped it up to 37" KO2's

---------- Post added at 10:27 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:58 PM ----------

With the move up to 37's, it was time to get rid of the tiny little 2WD wheel bearings and also ditch the stock balljoints and flimsy stock tie-rods.

Camburg uniball knuckles:

Single Swing Steering:

Everything powder coated and reinstalled:

Then it was time to make some room out back for those 37's. Hung some fiberglass bedsides:

The had the bed, and wheel wells shot with LineX:

And added an access panel to get to the rear fuel pump:

Awesome build!

Have you ever seen this OBS pre-runner F-150 that Jesse James recently bought:

BUTT PEE (Digging my New Daily! Got rid of my Raptor and was...)

I haven't been able to locate any additional info on his, but would certainly like to see the build and specs on it too.

Very cool! These trucks are mostly gone here in MI. by now from the rust it would be cool to build one. I had a 94 Bronco that would have been fun to build now but it's long gone 15+ years ago

That's a cool build, thanks for sharing. I have a 91 Bronco I would like to slowly start building, need to start with the engine first though, she's a little tired at 183k miles

Thanks! I did see that, and know a little about the history of that truck. That truck was actually on the front of the Fabtech catalog back in the late 90's and had their custom beams on it that they used to make. It was actually here in the Socal area somewhere. Really nice truck. As I understand it, UMP did a lot of the fab work on that thing and it had a pretty nicely built motor. Here's a few pics of that one that i saved from who knows where:
