I would go with the Boss since the numbers will be very limited according to Ford. That will bring the collectability up considerably as compared to the GT500. The GT500 was supposed to be phased out by now but Carroll Shelby conviced Ford to keep building them. That alone will decrease the value of the GT500. The average number of GT500's per year is about 8-9K vehicles. To me, that is too many for it to be a collector car.

As for performance, sure the GT500 will be more powerful than the Boss but what are you going to do with the power? The Boss will kill the GT500 on a road course but the GT500 will kill the Boss on a drag strip. I read an article in Motor Trend that tested out the Boss. They said that the Boss was fastest car out of the box on a road course they have had in a long time. It even beat the GT500 in most all categories. They were very impressed with the Boss. If I was in the market for a possible collector car of the future right now, it would have to be the Boss 302 hands down.

That is exactly why I'm picking a 2013 GT500 over a new Boss. I don't have the funds to buy a car and just let it sit in the garage or just be a track car. I want to be able to have fun with it whenever I want and not worry about putting miles on it.

What's the fun in buying a car and not driving it? Cars like this are made to be enjoyed, not shrink-wrapped and shelved.

I agree with you on all of them except 001. Collectors are going to be the ones willing to pay out the big money down the road. Not someone who is going to enjoy it as a weekend car...
