Hi.
I want to run something by you guys.
I"m planning on buying a used, 2010 raptor. Reasons for me are.
I want a 133 inch wheel base (supercab) with a 5.4 motor. Seems that only 2010's came in that combination. 2011's and 2012's are only 6.1 motors.

I have been shopping and am surprised that most prices range from $39K to $45K. Used prices are higher than what invoice($34.5K) was for when the truck was new. Some are even as hi or higher than MSRP ($38.5) when truck was new. I am looking under 25K miles but that should not matter. Clean condition. Not pristine.
These trucks are now 3 years old since the 2012's are on the lots now.
In my research the auto rating companies say for a 2010 Raptor with most amenities or trim packages added should be:

Trade in - Approx. $33K
Private Seller - $35K
Dealer Retail - $37.5K

I'm just wondering if anyone else has been looking at used trucks and have found the same high prices?
Thanks.
Mil T

P.S. I will be using the numbers I have here to negotiate with dealer if that is the way I go but there's a lot of haggling that I'm going to have to do.

No chance will you find a raptor for under 25k unless it's a salvage that needs repair.

The trucks are holding value fairly well. Can I ask why you are not interested in the 6.2L though?

Its a artificial market just like the bmw m3s. I just paid less than 40 for a used 2010 loaded. I looked for months to find one at that price with the options I wanted.

With the raptor your going to have to bite the bullet and pay a high price to have it if not good luck finding one.

My Raps msrp was 45675 with the 5.4 so you're definitely looking at a stripped down base model pricing

The quotes for the MSRP and INVOICE that I received was from KBB. Maybe I was reading it wrong or something but I did put in the packages that I would want and it came up with those numbers. It was definitly not a stripped truck. I don't think there were any stripped model Raptors put on the lots any where any way. I agree that it seems that the values are holding well but still 3 year old trucks. I havnt heard of any vehicle holding that kind of value unless it was a 50 years old classic of some kind.

Yes that was 25K miles.

Not interested in 6.2 motor because of gas mileage. The 5.4 will deliver respectable power and mileage with the proper tunes with intake, Exhaust and programing in my opinion. I should be able to make enough horsepower to bring the 5.4 up to speed for my use.

Thanks for the responses so far.

I have a 2010 5.4 with 54,000 miles. My truck had a sticker of $45,000 with everything but trailer brake controller and graphics. It's only 2 years old and I got 1 of the first ones. I currently am getting worse than 15mpg combined. I was recently quoted $33-35k on trad-in sight-unseen. Used Raptors are selling close to sticker ofthe new 2012 sticker. I am in SoCal and the demand is a little greater out here.

Just a few facts to help you make an informed decesion when the opportunity presents itself.

Have you done any tuning with intake, exhaust or programing on your motor?
I live in a no emisions area of Arizona so I will be able to do some other tuning options that most aren't able to do.
