I need honest opinions here...

I had a 2011 SCAB and was not as informed as I am now when I first purchased it. The previous owner put it through its paces and it was not in the best shape when I purchased it. It was still an awesome truck and held its value very well. So much so that I was made an offer than I couldn't refuse and parted ways with it for a Jeep.

I quickly realized that I couldn't go without a truck and decided to be more sensible and purchased a brand new 2016 Silverado Z71 LTZ Midnight Edition loaded to the gills. It's a beautiful truck with more options than I know what to do with BUT...it's not a Raptor.

I've missed having a Raptor ever since I left mine go. I should've opted for another Raptor after selling my first one but you know what they say about hindsight.

Anyway, I found a 2014 Tuxedo Black SCREW for a steal that was most definitely a grocery getter. I don't think it has ever been off pavement. I went over it with a fine tooth comb and the skid plates don't have a scratch on them. No mods and new Duratracs on the OEM beadlocks.

Only issue is the truck has 85k miles. It would basically be an even swap money wise. I just can't wrap my mind around trading a 2016 Silverado with an extended warranty that is perfectly serviceable for a 2014 Raptor with 85k miles aside from the fact that I just want another Raptor haha. I'm not really looking to pay any more than I am now either - I know there are plenty of low mileage 14's but they are still going for high $40's. Anybody else purchase a higher mileage Raptor?

I guess I'm between modding the Silverado and making it more appealing to me, waiting a year or two to see if Gen 1 prices come down or just saying F it and jumping on this one now. I just know my truck will depreciate a lot faster than a Raptor as well.

I have a feeling I already know what the responses will be but hoping someone else who has been in my shoes can shed light.

Also, I'm in Ohio and it will be on pavement 85% of the time and is most definitely my daily driver.

I've got a 2014 SE with 95k miles on it, and haven't had one problem with it. Do what you want and read what you want, but there isn't a Chevy built that I would drive vs a Raptor......

The last chevy I liked was my 03 SS Silverado. I didn't like my 09 LTZ dually and hated my 11 6.2L LTZ Silverado, sold the 6.2 back to the dealer for a kick in the nuts loss. I LOVE my raptor!!!!

We can build that Silverado out for you....

Yeah, I was wondering if a coil-over kit would at least get me in the same ballpark as far as ride/feel. I can't stand the factory ride even with the Z71 suspension.

I hate the look of a 6" lift but if I could stuff 35's under a 4" BDS or similar grade lift with coil-overs, I would be intrigued.

With the money you'd spend on a nice suspension setup, you might as well trade for that Raptor and put a powertrain warranty on it and go from there. We can handle your Silverado, but you're going to be sinking some coin into it to get where you want.
