Is buying a raptor with ~100k+ miles for $30k worth it? Or should I wait for next year and buy new? Granted I'm prepared to put 15k-20 down on either maintenance for the used, or an engine swap to a V8 next year.
Thank you for your time to read and hopefully answer :D

Welcome to the forum @Gigachip!

What year is the Raptor you are looking at?

If it were me, I would wait for the new one.

Well, I love the styling of the 2010 - 2014 raptors.
It's similar to my silverado with the front end. I'm not. A huge fan of newer trucks going with monster size grills in the front.
My wife tells me the same I should get the new one lol. But I gotta ask.

Just curious, have you looked at how much a 2017 would cost, then add the motor change (possibly transmission and transfer case to fit new motor)? It would seem to me this total would far exceed the 50ish you can get a low mileage 13 or 14 for. Then you get the looks you want also.

Or get the 100k miles used one and swap the motor for a 6.6L built motor from Livernois!

Welcome!

I'd probably look for a lower mileage gen1 but hard to find one 'cheap'. Can't go wrong with our v8 sound and gen1 looks and ability!!!

Update: signed papers to own a 2012 Black Raptor Yesterday. Hoping to pick it up Wednesday.
My wife and I agreed, sadly, that no mods for a few months.
That being said, any El Paso, TX/ Las Cruces, NM raptor groups?

Well done. If your wife is anything like mine, the mods will happen sooner than you think.
