So I was replacing my brake pads today and when I got to the rears I found this odd looking thing attached to the top bolt on the rear calipers, yes its on both sides.

It has no wires attached to it, so what ever it does it must do it wireless. Question is... What is it and what does it do?

Those are your space-time wrinkle generators, they remove all friction from the power train and allow your 6.2L engine to put all it's power to the ground, generating space-time wrinkles and allowing you to travel at 3 times the speed of light

Cleave, your wrong. Those are the flux capacitors. Closely monitor them. They must keep a charge of atleast 1.21 gigawatts
