Upgrading stock OEM trans cooler

So far average driving 5 degrees Celsius cooler and pushing up hill the most I've seen was 96 degrees.

I realize this thread ended a year ago, and it's more related to a budget simple replacement of stock cooler with larger oem style but has anyone considered or installed the RPG trans cooler?

It's naturally more expensive but looks nicely made and of good heavy duty quality.

I'm considering purchasing it but wondering if modification is needed to properly fit as a replacement, especially with a Whipple twin elec fan large intercooler installed?

So anyone running this cooler kit?

I went with the ADD CBR trans cooler fan kit. No issues and temps never spike over 198.

Really!? When I run hard (ha) I can hit 235 then have to "cruise" :/

Your foot is heavier than mine as we know HAHA.

Maybe if you had, i don't know say exhaust, some of that heat won't be in the engine bay my headers only....

question....will the Dorman 918-234 work with the stock if i added??

Im not sure.

The Dorman 6 row cooler fits like stock. I also did the AFE deep pan. Between the 20+ qts of oil and the added cooling capacity, should be a winner combo both in cooling and installation. Had my buddy flush the stock system first then added the cooler,pan, filter and extention piece. I have a 5 Star programmer coming in . I figure with a little higher pressure and less clutch,convertor slipping that should help too. To be honest Ive never seen my temp over 196 with the stock setup but I have to drive a couple hours to get to some sand. Ive had good luck with Redline watter wetter in the past but nothing over 5-10 degrees.

Just wish it came with a filter with a tig welded ext tube. It was pretty hard to get the aluminium one it came with into the new filter.
