Straps behind rear seat headrests

Does anyone know what these straps are for? There is one behind each rear seat headrest in my Screw. I was hoping pulling up on them would allow the seats to be flipped down. I tried tugging upward on them but it do anything. Are they simply for raising the seat back up or what?

they are for strapping in child safety seats a certain way, describes them in the manual in the seat section.

The seats only fold up. Not down.

I use that strap to tie my dogs leash to when he rides in the box, it's a bylaw here where I live. No dog in the box unless he's tethered to the truck.

I think in the SuperCrew the back seats do fold down... I had no idea they did until I read this thread a while back (it shows how to fold the back down).

Yup they r for child seats and the screw seats do fold down. I mounted my amp behind the seats on the back wall

You probably wouldn't have won if you continued to pull on the straps since they should be very well attatched to the truck! lol
