Hi everyone. New to the forum. I have a 2011 Raptor with a Whipple Stage II supercharger kit. Recently a noise has developed from the area around the transfer case. Hard to describe but kind of sounds like a rattle. Below are two videos with the sound (ignore supercharger sound). I has gotten progressively worse.

Any ideas?

Hard to tell from the videos but there is a heat shield on the exhaust pipe next to the transfer case. Try looking at that.

I will look at that... I should have mentioned it appears to go away in four wheel drive...

Hmm, have you done a search to try and see if others have had the same issue? Also if your IWE'S are engaging partially in 2 wheel drive and then engaging all the way when you move to 4 wheel drive then it will make a grinding noise when in 2 wheel drive and not in 4 wheel drive. If that's the case it would be a vacuum issue. Check all the lines from the hubs to the engine bay for cracks or breaks.

Hard to tell what that noise is.
Does it only make that noise while driving or will it do it in park at different revs?

I just had a tinny sounding noise at certain rpms not to long ago.
I found the small banding around the heat shield on the cross over exhaust pipe from the drivers side to the Y-Pipe had broken.
I replaced it with a heavy duty hose clamp, rattling is now gone.

Mine has the same issue, it doesn't make the noise all the time but is starting to make it more. it sounds like a metal scraping or like nails scraping across a chalk board. the noise goes away when in 4wd. my truck is a 14 with 30k on it.

Mine is now fixed. Replaced vacuum lines. Thankfully it was a cheap fix.
Did they change the iwe (actuator) as well? While you vacuum lines were failing, your iwe was prematurity wearing. They will bust the first time they go under load while offroad.
