Steering Rack

Not quit sure where to post this up, so the general tech forum will work.

Im looking to see if anyone has a faster steering rack option for the raptors.

Myscab is like driving a school bus and am looking into finding a supplier that has a faster rack. I believe the current is 20:1 from my searching.

Im not concerned with the extra effort a short rack would require.

To make the stretched Raptor behave as much as possible like the original, the steering ratio was tightened from 20:1 to 16:1...

This was taken from the 2011 Motortrend review. You might be able to find a way to get the Screw rack into the Scab rack.

Thanks carl, I'll look into it. Shouldnt be that much of a price change i wouldnt think.

fordparts.com is listing them for $800 ish.

Only things I can see is if any mounts are changed, I doubt it, and the steering degrees on the HUD will be off by switching

Good call on the degrees, i wonder how that would mess with the front camera tracks as well. Might just be a software change.

Not a bad price. wish i could find something down around 12:1. full steering in plus or minus 90 degrees

wait, rock auto for the svt is calling out 656 for the 145"
