Don't know what the time limit is but its there. You can only start it twice in a session. Third time it will just honk at you.

I think there is more to this than a time limit issue or operator error. I have this intermittent problem as well. I tried to remote start my truck this morning from inside my house as I was getting ready for work - the exact same thing I do every morning, and I got the honk. The truck has been sitting all night. I just got the single honk and I had to start it manually. After that, remote start will work fine for a while. I have found no rhyme or reason. It appears totally random to me. I can say for SURE that remote start IS on. My key has been programmed, and I hadn't used the remote start in at least 12 hours. There is nothing wrong with the hood sensor - I haven't even opened the hood in some time and usually remote start works no problem. There are too many of us with this same issue for it to be a fluke.

I agree with you. I get the same problems sometimes.

Double check your hood to verify it's fully closed. I had the issue a few weeks ago and then I noticed my hood latch was not fully engaged.

dont have any issue on mine. Try Lock + start start (its on the key) after the truck is started then unlock the doors.

Check the hood switch (driver side, under the hood, next to the coolant overflow resevoir. May need to bend it up a tad so that it makes better contact. I've had mine off a couple times fiddling with the intake and that's what I've noticed.

Matt

Once again I'll restate. There is no issue with the hood switch. I can have this problem (on occasion) then start the truck and stop it. Problem will be gone for days or weeks - every time. I don't open my hood. I haven't fiddled with anything under there. I'm 110% confident my hood is fully closed.
This is not a problem with the physical hood or hood switch. I don't see how it can be if I can have the problem, physically start the truck, shut it off without moving it, driving it, doing anything with it - then have remote start work just fine.
SERG09 and RatedSVT like this.

Cool. Just making sure you checked it as I've seen the problems on my truck related to the switch. Hope you figure it out....or the dealer does.
