Anyone know if this looks normal or is evidence of a problem like a seal or gasket gone bad. Climbed under the rear before washing just to check everything out. b387dfab5dd545c2c7af694dac724447.jpg

a little residue is not that big of deal.

what you need to think about is did the gasket just fail or was there a pressure build up that caused it to push out. if its pressure, you need to check your breather.

this is a great chance to swap out your diff cover for one you can drain and fill.

X2. Differentials do tend to leak over time. I plan to swap my cover in the near future, even though mine is not leaking.

Almost just looks like the mess from somebody changing the fluid. That small seep is certainly not an issue. If it bothers you pull it, clean it, reseal it. If you start now you could have it done in an hour...
