Reviving an old thread here...

Was changing my oil earlier this week and noticed I had a coolant leak. It wasn't bad, but definitely leaking. I never noticed because the coolant was collecting on the skid plate and not dripping onto the pavement until I moved the truck. I couldn't find the source of the leak. Hoses seemed fine and there was no visible damage to the radiator. I added 1/2 gallon of coolant and took it to the dealer to have it pressure tested.

They tested it and found the leak coming from one of the seams on the bottom plastic reservoir. No idea how this happened since that part is fairly well protected from getting hit. Dealer said it was probably a weak point and was just a matter of time. They ordered a new radiator and are installing it as I type this. All covered under original factory warranty - 30k miles only.

Just thought I'd share for anyone else searching.
Sounds like you may have a bad Radiator cap as well. It shouldn't let the system get high enough to Crack the reservoir. It's very inexpensive to change, so I would.

I may just do that. Thanks.

I would change out the radiator cap too. About a year back i got a coolant leak and i tracked it down to a bad cap. I replaced it, and no more leak. I also learned that it is a good idea to carry a spare cap lol

Is there a recommended cap? Blue anodized billet aluminum with Raptor logo perhaps?

Just got my truck back and they put a brand new cap on. They told me they did that for every radiator swap. Looks new. They cleaned everything up really nicely. Looks new.

So they replaced the rad as well as the reservoir?

Yes. They replaced the entire radiator assembly. I was impressed. Seemed like a lot of work, but I didn't think the reservoir separated from the radiator housing. I thought they were all one piece.
