PLEASE HELP, My rear passenger door will not shut

PLEASE HELP, My rear passenger door will not shut. The latch won't lock. I compared it to the other door and it appears that the lock on the latch doesn't stick when you shut the door. Any suggestions is much appreciated.

2011 4 door.

Make sure it is unlocked and use a flat screwdriver and unhook the clamp in the door closure, you know where it clamps onto the pillar post knob

Try opening the door with the handle while you do it

Exactly...one my kids was sticking his fingers in the open door lock mechanism and made the steel hook close. Door just kept banging off the metal to metal until I opened/pushed back to recess position the steel hook with a flathead

YouTube is a good resource for stuff like this. This video shows what CoronaRaptor was explaining to do. Kind of stupid to use your key to do it though... grab a screwdriver.
