Hi,
I am looking to buy 2012 Raptor and want to ask everyone what is the common problems you had , what to look at when shopping around and what to expect.
Shopping around for the past couple weeks and found some decent deals but those are quite of driving so want to get prepared before hitting the road.

I have a 2012.
I've broken my front driver axle and/or IWEs three times, plus a few problems with the vacuum line.
My sunroof just broke this last weekend.
I had a transmission sensor issue a few years ago.
My heated seat is currently being fixed.
My power steering pump went out a few years ago.
My driveshaft likes to chirp unless it gets lubed frequently.

My truck sees some abuse offroad.

I just bought a '13 after waiting a couple years and looking for a couple months; used craigslist and cargurus a lot (USAA has a decent search too but narrowing to Raptor only is a little wonky).

Expect the tires to be toast heh. Look for low miles unless you're like me and half the reason you want one is to work on it (and/or have a low budget as I do). If it's a dealer lowball out of the gate, ideally end of month/quarter/year.

So far the only real problems I've had was a couple error codes; P0456 which was a cheap & easy fix with a new Canister Purge Valve (CPV), and P0128 which was also cheap & easy fix with a new thermostat. Remote start doesn't work at all if the check engine light is on. No telling what previous owners did but from what I can see they just drove the dog shit out of it and bone stock it held up exceedingly well...

Expect to have to rebuild the shocks if over 50000 miles, lots of places on here to have them done! I would flush the power steering fluid regardless, just for piece of mind no matter what the mileage is. Other than that, the normal stuff applies for any used vehicle : brakes, tires, spark plugs, air filter, etc. Good luck, you will love the truck!
