You could always stop by Ford World HQ on Michigan Ave in Dearborn while you're in town and perform some Raptor-style donuts on their pristine lawn to vent a little and show your frustration. Not that I would endorse doing something like that... :)

Afterall, the "splash screen" snafu appears to be the fault of the folks who do the Sync programming, etc...

But, pics and/or video if you do perform a Raptor lawnjob ! :)

I wouldn't mind finding my way into the testing area and tackling that hill in the middle.

I called the 800 number this morning and had my name put on a list to be notified once the problem is rectified. Said they will probably just send out a link to the new update file. Or maybe it is a ruse and they really won't do a thing. Anyway, I will continue to pretend I am driving my Lincoln Raptor. I feel like a real Mathew McConaughey all in deep thought.

I have not done the update yet, but what I have found is the customization files for backgrounds have Raptor, Mustang, Lincoln - Black Label, Lincoln - Presidential and Vignale...

What Lincoln screens are you seeing after the update?

Lincoln Presidential is what shows up at startup and shutdown.

Ok, I did the update today and it worked flawlessly. BUT!!!!!! You must modify the load to get it to work. I edited the file list to remove the references to the zip files and cab files for the non raptor splash screen and then removed the zip files and cab files that contain the other splash screens. I will do a better cut and paste of what I did when I get to work tomorrow. It is very easy if you know how to use notepad and the delete key. So now I am running ver3.8 with a raptor screen and it works like a charm. Hold the voice button for longer than 3 seconds and "Siri" comes alive and ready to answer your questions.

Edit the middle section of your autoinstall.lst file to look like the following:

;;;
;;; The following are the 3.08.15128 image files
;;;
[SYNCGen2_3.08.15128]
Item1 = EA5T-14D546-AFB
Open1 = SyncMyRide\EA5T-14D546-AFB.cab
Item2 = EA5T-14F496-MA
Open2 = SyncMyRide\EA5T-14F496-MA.zip
Item3 = EA5T-14F657-AD
Open3 = SyncMyRide\EA5T-14F657-AD.zip
Item4 = EA5T-14F497-AD
Open4 = SyncMyRide\EA5T-14F497-AD.zip
Item5 = EA5T-14D546-BC
Open5 = SyncMyRide\EA5T-14D546-BC.zip
Item6 = EA5T-14D546-DE
Open6 = SyncMyRide\EA5T-14D546-DE.zip
Item7 = EA5T-14D546-AJB
Open7 = SyncMyRide\EA5T-14D546-AJB.cab
Item8 = EA5T-14F496-VC

Item10 = BT4T-14D546-EE
Open10 = SyncMyRide\BT4T-14D546-EE.cab
Item11 = EA5T-14D546-LB
Open11 = SyncMyRide\EA5T-14D546-LB.cab
Options = AutoInstall

The line:

Item2 = EA5T-14F496-MA
Open2 = SyncMyRide\EA5T-14F496-MA.zip

is the reference to the zip file that contains the Raptor Specific splash screens. If you look at the original autoinstall.lst file you will see references to several other. Use the file names that you removed from the autoinstall.lst file as a reference to the zip files that you need to remove from the SyncMyRide Directory. Save your file, load into your vehicle and you are good to go.

The more I think about this the more I wonder if simply removing the references to EA5T-14F496-SA from the autoinstall.lst file would have done the trick? EA5T-14F496-SA is the zip file that contains the Lincoln Presidential specific images.

Item9 = EA5T-14F496-SA
Open9 = SyncMyRide\EA5T-14F496-SA.zip

I am going to play around with unpacking the EA5T-14F496-MA zip that contains the Raptor specific images and trying to just install this package standalone.

If you follow the install list, it installs several of the splash screens in different order. If you are in there editing, take out all the ones that don't apply.. you can't install something if it doesn't exist.

For anyone who went through with the 3.8 update and has the Lincoln splash screen and wants to revert back to their Raptor splash screen. Using the following method I was able to reinstall my Raptor graphics.

Do this at your own risk... I am not responsible for any issues you may encounter...

Copy the following files/Folder to your USB drive (or if you still have all your files on your USB drive simply delete the extra files in the SyncMyRide folder and just edit the autoinstall.lst):
autoinstall.lst
DONTINDEX.MSA
SyncMyRide

In the SyncMyRide folder the only file you will need is the EA5T-14F496-MA.zip file which contains the Raptor specific splash screen files.

Once the files are copied edit the autoinstall.lst file. It should look like the following:

;;;
;;; The following tags are software versions supported by this update
;;;

[SYNCGen2_3.08.15128]
Item1 = EA5T-14F496-MA.zip
Open1 = \SyncMyRide\EA5T-14F496-MA.zip
Options = AutoInstall

That should be it, pop the USB in and away you go. Update takes seconds to complete since only the splash screen files are being copied over.

I added screenshots below. 'Untitled' is the ROOT of my USB drive. Ignore the shaded files as those are system files that I have unhidden on my machine.

Great job. Glad I'm not the only nerd out here.
