Hi, 2013 Screw Raptor. Anyone else's air conditioning seem weak? Mine doesn't blow cold until I'm on the highway and even then it's just slightly cold, not freezing like my previous truck. Also, when my auxiliary fans kick on they are extremely loud, is this normal for this truck? Thanks.

My ac in my 12 cranks

Must be luck of the draw. We have two 2010 Expedition's with the 5.4 at my work and the A/c blows very cold in these. I had a 2003 Ram 5.7 and the A/C was terrible in that as well. My wife's 200k 13 year old BMW still freezes us out.

are you putting it on MAX AC with recirc on? if so that doesn't sound normal. my A/C is freezing by the time i get 2 minutes down the road. also keep in mind once your truck is cool that the air coming out of the vents will be colder on the lower fan settings because the air is passing over the evaporator coil slower which allows the refrigerant to dry the air and absorb more heat.

Thanks for the quick response. Yes it's on max A/C. It blows slightly cool air until I get moving in a open road. I know Ford is going to tell me it's within specs so I was just trying to compare if anyone else thought the same. What about your aux fans, are they somewhat loud?

No I do not hear the fans except maybe on low there is a very quiet whine or hum. All I can hear with the fans turned up is air. If Ford tells you your refrigerant pressures are normal it might be worth the $12 to buy one of those kits at auto zone to check it yourself. I don't know what temperature they calibrate the refrigerant pressure at the Factory but when it gets really hot, the pressure goes up in the cooling system. When the pressure goes up so does the refrigerant temperature which directly relates to how cold the evaporator coils get and thus how cold the air will get. On really hot really humid days you almost expect that the cooling system will be a little off because there is a lot of moisture in the evaporator coil and the air passing through is obviously much warmer which will effect the final temperature out of the vents. Either way I am just rambling and have zero complaints with my AC so something could be off with yours.

Mine was cold at first. Now it only manages cool even on max. It goes in Thursday. Hope it isn't like my Lariat. That one has gone thru 2 compressors and other misc repairs and was only right about 1/2 the time. By aux fan are you meaning the a/c seats? The blower for the seats is rather loud on high. FYI dealer had tried telling me my old truck ac was working when it would barely cool. Don't be afraid to grab a thermometer and prove it to them. Or better yet ask them to compare to any random new one on the lot... always works. Mine is a 13 also

Thanks for the explanation!
