Thanks for the replies, Trick, I generally run at 25ish psi (Toyo MT) I don't have bead lockers like you do there. That damn front wheel breaking traction surely pisses me off, and yes it does engage when the wheel spins, I always wondered why turning off traction control doesn't also disengage the front as well, I know its to preserve drive train but it always engages when you need power the most. It could also be an issue, I haven't really looked into that yet. Fb73, I'm sure the IWE's are fully engaged before I off road, I always start it, engage it, and wait 30ish seconds. We have checked vacuum and its fine, the problem here is as others mentioned the plastic collars cannot withstand the torque of the truck, especially the 598ftlbs I'm throwing down.

It truly is a weak point to the truck (thus people putting effort into making aftermarket options) and with a 72K price tag I would expect this truck to live up to its "intended" use. c'mon FORD stand by with a remedy for this issue or I'm out! I feel like I'm getting burned yet again by these Raptors.

Is this possible that the IWEs may not be fully engaged, thus causing the system to pop and/or break ?

Edit : From another thread on FRF : My friend's daughter's F150 had an IWE failure and when he measured the vacuum in the lines, the failed wheel-end had improper vaccum. I think the IWE failures is more of the effect than the cause.
it seems like a crap shoot with the 4wd in these trucks. my 13 didnt have an issue at all (for the short time i had it) but this one seems to break everytime i try to use it.

Keep in mind that the IWE is not specific to the raptor. It's on all Ford F-150's. SVT used what was already there.

Issues have been there since 2004, granted it wasn't until the Raptor came out the issue was accelerated.. Previous years you would see this issue crop up around 60k miles. With the higher hp and the addition of torsen caused accelerated wear and breakage.

OEM locking ring inside the IWE verses the RCV locking ring.. OEM is unknown material where RCV locking ring is 300M, the same material RCV uses in their axles..

As many FRF members can attest, I have been obsessed with making these eliminators. They have been put through their paces in Canada's worse by a crazy Canadian. Happy to say if the can survive Nextix (Alex) driving for a year. They will survive normal Raptor owners driving with 1-2% lose in fuel milage.
