2012 Powersteering issue

Hello,
I was just wondering if any other 2012 raptor owners had issues with their power steering.
I got my raptor less 2 weeks ago. I have already driven about 1,000 miles. After about 850 miles, the power steering went out. Turns out the pump was leaking.
The dealership "fixed" it under warranty and replaced the pump after a 2 day wait for the pump to come into the dealer.
Took the truck home, it drove fine, however, i noticed after parking it in the garage for over an hour that the leak is still there.
Just curious to see if any other 2012 raptor owners have had a similar issue, seems to be a little ridiculous. I did take the truck off roading once, but went pretty easy so I highly doubt that was the issue. After a 5 month wait, this is kind of disappointing.
However, gotta say the truck was great while it worked...Will post up some pics once i get the truck working again. It's a White 2012 Scab.
If anyone has experience with this please let me know what the issue causing this to reoccur, I have read many thread with this topic talking about 2010/11 raptors, but it seems as though this is a pretty common problem, yet has no good permanent fix for those having the issue. Read a few threads on several forums where people had the issue reoccur 3+ times.

Wow. That is amazing. I take delivery Friday. Hoping this is a fluke issue but since yours was replaced and still leaking (are you sure its not coolant, thats been an issue with 2012 owners) makes me a little weary. Possibly that's the new main hidden reason some of ours were delayed an extra month? We shall see. Best of luck, keep us posted.

Maybe the drips are from the original leaky pump? Unless the technician wiped everything, it might take awhile for the spotting to go away.
Were those 3+ recurring failures on Raptors?

Is it RED fluid on the ground? Guess what? You got a Female Raptor... Give it another day or two and the dripping should stop. If it starts again in 4 weeks... You know what you have - ha ha

For what it's worth, I've had my 2012 Screw for about 4 weeks now with no fluids or issues. Only sitting at about 375 miles though, due to my five mile commute.

Ten miles a day keeps the Ford tech away!
Same here except I have 580. I'm not home all week to drive it though

ginger, I have the same issue going on right now. Last week I went to leave from work and the steering was groaning a whining really bad. I got it home and popped the hood to see what the deal was. The power steering fluid was about 1.5 inches below the MIN fill line. I looked under the truck and had a puddle of fluid and drips on the underside of the skid plates. Looking down into the skid plate there was a little bit of pooling as well.
I filled the reservoir to MAX which got rid of the groaning but still took it into the dealership last Friday to address the leak. They diagnosed it as a failed A/C compressor and off I went. I left town and came back yesterday only to find the same mess under my truck and the fluid level below MIN after bacially driving it home 5 miles from the dealership. Needless to say it's back in there today.
From forum browsing it seems as though a few of the 2012s are having high pressure hose failures at the power steering pump. I know this, I didn't pay close to 50k for a brand new truck with under 1000 miles on it that leaks like an '82 El Camino. Ford has my goodwill right now because I love the damn truck so much but its going to wane pretty quickly if this latest visit doesn't fix the problem.

It is in the fact the power steering. It is a red fluid that is pretty thick, and i also know because i had to drive 120 miles home with no powersteering what so ever. The freeway wasnt bad, but getting out of the parking lot was a tough one .
Good luck to you, home you dont have this random issue.

I've got a 2011...no leak. But, recently I've noticed a squeeking sound coming from my steering column when I make turns. It doesn't sound like the whining/squeeking pump (heard those before and it's pretty unmistakable). Thought I'd throw in my experience although probably not related. I've yet to get it checked out...I need to eventually. 110 plugs won't stay plugged in to my inverter plug either. Wonder if that can be tightened up as well.

Just figured out this whole multi quote thing. This could be it, I'll check it out before next time i drive it and try to wipe it down better.

Same thing here, only reason I am not completely frustrated is because i have always wanted this truck since it came out. However, I dont have too much patience when in fact I paid around 50k to have a dumb problem such as this.
And i just realized i forgot to quote one guy, but yes, the 3 pump failure i mentioned in the first post was in fact on a raptor. I forget which forum i read it on.
