GEN 1 2010 5.4 engine tick (video)

Greetings,

6 months ago, I purchased a 2010 Ford Raptor with the 5.4 and 100K from my local Ford dealership. And of course they talked me into the extended warranty, given the mileage. Since I've had it, the engine has had a slight tick at idle and upon light acceleration. I and my family have owned Mustangs for years, which always tick, so I wasn't too worried about it. However, I recently read about the 5.4 tick being related to wear in the valves and whatnot. I recorded a video of the noise, which originates from the passenger side, near the valve cover. What do you all think? Should I take it in and have the dealer check it out?

Exhaust manifold leak ...

I just had mine fixed. $900.00 at the dealer. Common issue with the 5.4L engine.

900 dollars?!

I have the "Silver" protection plan. Includes the manifold, but nothing in any of the plans about injectors. And just to be clear, this is not normal, correct? It's been to the dealer about 5 times for service and they've never said anything. I have a feeling they might give me the "normal for this engine/model" line.

the 5.4 tick is a normal thing from everything I've read/heard but I'm sure @Hockster would be better qualified to say yea/nay to that.

Very common for 5.4 v8 to tick. Did it do it when you bought it 6 mnths ago?
Could be injectors or valves. I would have the dealer look at it. Use the warranty for sure.
