Any recommendations when cleaning the engine? Its covered in dust and dirt and I wanted to get that show room engine look again. Was thinking a good engine degreaser and a power wash would do it.

I have heard to use Simple Green and a garden hose. I have never used it personally, but I have mud residue everywhere under the hood from the Texas Run.

I was the shit out of mine under the hood. I spray it with a de-greaser, and wash it with my pressure washer. DO NO Spray THE Alternator!!! and do not direct the spray directly into the electric connectors and you will be fine. Best is to leave the engine running too...

I haven't washed the engine bay of my Raptor, but on other vehicles I always put a Walmart bag or something around the alternator and just sprayed everything down with simple green and hosed off. After that just close the hood and start the engine and let the engine heat dry most of the engine bay.

this.
you spray simple green on it, let it sit for about 5-10 mins, then take a garden hose with a shower attachment, and go over it lightly, avoiding the electrical stuff. alt. etc.

engine off, and cool. let dry for about 1-2 hours before starting engine again. to make sure its all dry.

Are you saying to do the first part with the engine on? Is it hard not to hit the alternator? haha
