Glad to hear the appearance of your vinyl was improved!

Yes, the H20 Guard & Gloss is a synthetic sealant, so it provides protection for the vinyl.

It is not really a cleaner, so even though you saw some contamination get removed from the vinyl, there is likely still some contamination left in the vinyl. Next time, I recommend that you clean the vinyl first with Revive Hand Polish, then apply the HGG for appearance and protection.

That revive says it will gloss tho, which would defeat the purpose of protecting the matte. Am I wrong?

The Revive adds gloss to paint by removing oxidation or contamination, it does not have any wax or synthetics to add gloss. When used on matte vinyl, it does not really add gloss, but the finish will look different since it is cleaned. The HGG gives a more noticable difference on the matte vinyl.

You might also want to try using the new Matte Protectant on the vinyl. It is designed to add protection and no gloss at all.

Also, there is a sale about to start. The discount code CLEAN15 is up, but a couple new products have yet to be posted. They should be up soon.

I was always told to use Windex to clean matte vinyl. Might be worth a test patch on the decals?

@AdamsPolishes

Quick question.

For shine and protection after a good wash, should I wax first with lets say buttery wax and then do the paint sealant?

H20 guard for maintenance in between?

How does that sound?

Thanks

The Paint Sealant should always be applied first. It is an acrylic sealant, and gets its 5-6 month protection lifespan from bonding to the paint. In order to get the longest life, it needs to bond to clean, bare paint.

Carnauba waxes like the Buttery Wax or Americana Wax don't bond to paint in the same way as the synthetic sealant. If you were to apply the Buttery Wax first with the Paint Sealant on top, then the protection would only last as long as the bottom layer, so ~2 months.

I think you will be surprised how much gloss you get from the Paint Sealant, but can certainly add a layer of Buttery Wax on top for additional gloss and warmth.

H2O Guard & Gloss is perfect for maintaining the Paint Sealant. Apply it every month or so, and it will keep your protection and shine strong! Using the HGG also gives you the huge benefit of adding protection to the rest of the exterior surfaces like the glass, plastic and rubber trim, and vinyl graphics.

Thanks for the info! Placed an order last and wanted to get my order of operations right.

Adam's Paint Sealant rocks, guard and gloss every other wash.
I have not waxed it yet...
