Definitely doing the Light Mount for the VHF ....


WHERE did you end up mounting the Lowrance Antenna?

Finally got around to posting some pics of my radio install. Its an Icom 880
Mounted the face in the sunglass holder and ran the wires down the pillar. Power comes from Aux1 and the bed mounted antenna comes inside through a grommet under the drivers seat. I took both seats out to run the wires under the carpet and have it all come together in the center console storage space where I hard mounted the radio in there.

That's awesome setup. What is the antenna and antenna mount you used? does the antenna go higher than the roofline?

Antenna is a CA-2X4SR made by Comet. Its a dual band I picked up from Ham Radio Outlet in Anaheim.

I got the idea for the mount from a guy on page 3. I just painted mine black. https://www.breedlovemounts.com/ezn-stake-pocket-bracket.html

It does stick out about a foot past the roof line.

How has the face plate held up in the sunglasses holder longer term? Does the holder move much while off-roading?
