Thanks for that video. It has successfully turned me off of the idea of adding a PAC for now.

My PAC PRO works perfect and sounds amazing.

So what way are you going to go?

You read my mind.

Pulling apart the dash isn’t that bad, but then you have to pull a cluster of wires, along with your power cables, to the back of the truck.

It’s not a little job.

I’m not entirely sure how this PAC device takes the signal from the radio and converts it into 5v preouts, but it must involve some black magic. It may be a better signal than what I can get from grabbing high level inputs and summing them, but I am skeptical that it’s perfect and pure, but I just don’t know that much about them.

This a job I am capable of doing, but will sap a lot of my time, probably a factor of 3-4 x the time a pro would take to do it.

I imagine it works well, but something I’d consider hiring someone to do, if I go down this path.

Oh ok, i get it, I had mine done at a stereo shop and they said it wasn't bad at all, I was on the fence for a while but i'm glad I did it, sounds amazing.

I'm surprised Noah hasn't chimed in to explain this. It's not bad to do, and it converts the signal out of the head unit to an RCA level output to accurately bypass the factory amp so you can easily go to a processor. Mine is sitting right under the shelf in the upper dash and you simply run some long RCA's back to the 6to8. Use really good cables and be very careful about the routing so you don't pick up any low level interference(noise)

Those pictures are awesome but that’s not DIY, man.

It would take me a week working 10 hour days to attempt to tackle completely stripping the interior and reassembling it.

Could I do it? Yes. Would I be concerned that it never goes back together the same way again? Yes.

Hey are you using the Mosconi One Line amps?

I'm using these- arc audio xdiv2 1200.6 ( speaker amp) and they are very smooth. Class A take up at least twice as much room which there is none of. It's a big world out there when it comes to this shit, the choices are boggling. I just went with what Noah recommended, and I upgraded a couple things. I went for a better sub, I opted for the Mosconi controller cause it's cool.
