Google maps with apple car play?

Is there a way to do this? Siri can't get much right with apple maps.

Nope unfortunately apps for Car Play are invite only unless it's for audio so Apple hasn't allowed Google to build on this yet. Hopefully Apple opens up more Car Play API so Waze and Google Maps can make apps here but right now it's a closed environment.

Won't happen, Apple pushing their own maps

If you want Waze or Google Maps, you need to run android auto

Sadly no, maybe one day you can choose mapping app for carplay. I prefer waze.
