Ok, another generic complaint...speaker placement, obviously not unique to the Raptor.

The interior A-Pillar placement of the tweeters cannot be the best location, and the covers seem very restrictive. Anyone know why Ford didn't place them more toward the front/angled into the cabin, like most systems do, instead of basically across the windshield?

Also, when will companies/audio engineers actually test with normal people in the cars? The driver door speaker is so low it's almost always obscured by my leg while driving. If I move it, there is a noticeable difference in imaging, especially in DSP/surround. Why wouldn't you move the high/mid driver(s) up to avoid this? You could leave the woofer low because those low frequencies are basically omnidirectional. Some manufacturers do this (hell, Ford does it with the Lincoln/Revel systems), as do many aftermarket component systems.

Probably expecting too much, but some of this is a simple fix for the manufacturer. Anyway, still generally pleased with the system, which makes the little issues even more annoying. Can we haz a Revel too, pls?

I have a few questions about the B&O system. Is this a single disc player or does it hold multiple discs like the Sony system. Also, does this have a hard drive for music? If so, does it only load music from cd's or can we load music through other sources?

CD's are going away. This is going to be a single-disc player. You are referencing the old "Sync 1" system which was circa 2010-2012. That had a hard drive called the "Jukebox" and could be had with an in-dash 6CD changer. As far as I know, there were no disc changers in any vehicles with Sync 2 (My Ford Touch) and certainly none in vehicles with Sync 3.

In fact, a CD player is not standard on RAM trucks. You have to option for one if you want it. Streaming Bluetooth music, USB thumb drives, or stand-alone USB-connected phones / MP3 players have replaced CD's.

No hard drive. The B&O system is just speakers 7 amp...but the audio head unit remains the same Sync3 as before.

I had a 2012 truck and a 2010 Lincoln with the hard drive unit. The reason these vehicles had the hard drive was because they used it for the navigation system. There was a 10GB partition for customer music, but the only way to load it was via CD's. Pretty painful.

The Sync 2 and Sync 3 systems use flash memory for navigation and so there is no hard drive. A cheap USB drive would allow much more music storage than a 10GB drive, anyway.

Some discussion of I think the same thing here:

Kicker subwoofer

And I think sumurfslayer added one to his truck...a kicker in the existing enclosure:

Added a sub

And Guy did the same thing here with a Pioneer sub:

DIY stereo upgrade for under $500.00

All were improvements over stock, per the owners, but not going to win any competitions.
Guy likes this.

Agreed.

Much better than the stock Sony sound.
Itís not as warm or natural sounding as the Bowers and Wilkens in my Volvo, however.

Volvo has had some good stock systems...one of the best I've ever heard was when they had the relationship with Dynaudio years back. The true B&Os in the top-line Audis are really good, and I liked the Mark Levinson in my old Lexus. I want to hear the Revel in the top-line Lincolns...it's supposed to be incredible.
