About to install some BD light kits on my 2108 SCrew. Before I dive in, I'd like to know the best way to remove the insulating sleeving Ford applied to the ends of the aux switch and pass through wires. Will this just slip off by pulling (gently) on it, or is it heat shrink tubing that will need to be sliced with an Xacto knife? Or, its there a better way?

yes, there is a better way, a wire stripper, or if you are at least somewhat dextrous, a pair of lineman’s pliers; use the ‘cutting’ edges to strip the insulating piece. it removes very easily, so go slow, be deliberately careful and you’ll be fine.

Thanks! I can do this! Am an old hand at using diagonal cutters (aka "dikes") to strip wires. Not much length on the aux wires to work with so best to ask first.
