I can't find any threads on interior LED swaps for 2017s, specifically the map lights? On my 2012 FX4 it was as simple as removing the plastic lens but the Gen2s seem to have a full assembly that needs to be pulled out to access the map lights.

Does anyone know of a how-to available to replace the map lights on a Gen2?

We're trying to find various members with different trim level and cab configurations to put our kits together.

So far, we've confirmed that 802A trucks have interior LED lights from the factory.

What trim level is your truck?

802A has LED's? I haven't taken the covers off but they are a warm white color LED, not cool white (6000K) color like I prefer. Do you plan on offering a cool white option?

We offer cool white LED lights, but we really need to get in and see if the bulbs can even be removed on them. They may be soldered in from the factory.

I've got an 802A order queued up and waiting for the first DFW area dealer to drop their dealer markup - simply won't pay it out of principle. So in the mean time, I'm building my to-do list with a 6000k interior lighting package being a top priority.

Yes, the 802A comes with LED interior lights but they're somewhere around 4,200K and look far too yellow, as TheTip247 mentioned. Cool White in the 6,000K range is what I'll need as well.

I'm pretty sure the entire overhead assembly that holds the map lights and also the auxiliary switches will need to come out to access the LEDs. If the OE LEDs are soldered into the unit, that'd be a shame.

I'll be able to get up close to a Gen 2 this Saturday. I'm going to do some digging and see what all I can find.

Hey Nick, any update?

Thanks

I was able to get a look, but unfortunately couldn't quite find a way to take it apart and didn't want to risk breaking the interior plastics on a brand new truck.

From what I could tell, it didn't look like there was a way to remove the stock bulbs, but I may be wrong. I'll continue to do some digging.

Thanks!
