I used 20% on two front doors to match the back doors and rear window. Looks great, works great. On my 4-door sedan, I ended up doing 35% because it was a black car with black interior. The police here don't pull over for it specifically... You have to be guilty of other things before you get a ticket for it.

Going to do some tint on my truck soon ... never easy trying to balance safety for law enforcement with the desire to keep the truck cool, and add some security .. I understand the concept of limiting tints, but, most cops have tinted windows themselves ... keep it reasonable and nobody will have a problem!

My tint shop (I'm in Texas) said they tint cop cars (and cops' personal rides) all the time, and they go below the legal limit too. Apparently they only thing that they really care about is front windshield tints, so they don't do them.

I did full ceramic tint last week and it cut the heat by a lot. I did 5% front doors 15% rear over the factory tint and 35% full moonroof which helped out the most with heat and 35% windshield. I went to Home Depot the next day and the temp was 94 outside and spent a hour in the store, when I came out the truck was still cool. I definitely recommend doing ceramic.

was 5% front and 15% over the rear look visually equal? I got 15% all around and thinking about stripping the front and replacing it with 5% so it looks even across. Please 15% is not as dark as it was on my previous vehicles, with these big ass windows.

Yes I told the guy I am OCD and need it to match so he figured it out, so now I can’t tell a difference between front and back. Super happy with it.

I am getting ready to get mine tinted next week, so this thread is very timely. How does yours look at night? ie. Can you see cars behind you and through your rear view mirror pretty easily when backing up? I had the 5% limo done on one of my previous Ford trucks and it was very hard to see out back at night. It did look great during the day...

It’s dark and when backing in the driveway I use the back up camera or roll the windows down and use the mirrors.

How much is a ceramic compared to just normal tint?
