I had to clear plastic that the was left where the forms came together. That and a rubber mallet as pointed out above.

^ this. Two out of four of mine were the same way. I have the factory spray in liner too, but the problem (at least in my case) had nothing to do with the bed liner, it was the excess plastic on the cleats from the molding process. I trimmed them with a razor knife and they went in easily enough.

Update: Got them installed. Appreciate the guidance. It required trimming the parts as you guys stated. Once I did that they went in, no hammer needed.
