I'm curious. What exactly sucks about it? I have five of them in different vehicles and they work perfectly. Best mounts I've ever owned. The only problem I've ever had is when I installed one incorrectly by placing it in the wrong seam. I had to re-read the directions to see my mistake.

It is too narrow to fit over the vent. The legs are spread too wide to grip.

Seriously, check the installation instructions. ProClip wouldn't make a mount for an F-150 that didn't fit perfectly. Maybe they shipped you the wrong mount.
