Heres some interesting information regarding this thread. This is what the Ford Dealers see.
SSM 47312 2018 F-150 - Floor Shift Transmission Selector Lever - Floor Shift Gear Selection Indicator (PRNDL) Not Illuminated - Built On Or After 17-Jan-2018

Mine was built 1/19/2018. Interesting. Wonder why?

Just picked up my 2018 Raptor yesterday and I noticed that mine aren’t on as well. Curious to see what the fix is.

I don't think there is a fix, as this appears to not be an error or something broken, these appear to be not illuminated by design.

Why Ford changed the design to have them not be illuminated is not known, or at least has not emerged in any forum I have seen.

I suspect, just my guess, that Ford had some trim levels / options packages that were incompatible with this setup. Possibly they eventually decided that all / most installations should be sans lights to simplify production.

Does this mean you can't get it to work if you choose to buy the part and install as some others did, or will that no longer possible?

Maybe something to do with ambient lighting as well, since they got rid of that feature for 18's

The ambient lighting can be restored by using forscan to restore the icon and the color menu. You then need to replace all of the light modules with 2017 F-150 parts, with the exception of the cup holder ring which is from F-250.

This may be something I can do and have the dealer do the forscan part. I'm not sure what the dealer would charge to do the whole job.

Where is that? I can't find that option on the 18 Forscan notes?

Mine too. No lights on the center console to show gear selection and I keep my dimmer all the way up. I'm gonna go by the dealership and check some others at night. Can't imagine the 17's light up but not the 18

There's a huge thread on F-150 forum about this. The member that did most of the research is also a member here. I can't think of his name.
