Popcorn iPhone mount on dash
seems like a simple enough design for $22

no weird mounts, nothing blocking air vents - just mount on top of the dash in the center... just need to run a power line to the center dash...

thoughts?

I've had similar mounts and while they are great the magnets demagnitized my credit cards if my phone got too close to my wallet.

And worth every penny. Won't shake off, won't drop your phone, and won't mess up your credit cards.

Magnets and electronics are never a good idea together.

I just installed 2 of those. One on the top of the dash for my phone, one under the trailer control to mount my pedal commander.

The magnet is in the mount. On your phone or case you add a metal sticker. Not sure how this could impact your credit cards when your phone is in you pocket since there is no magnet on your phone.

It probably magnetized the metal plate on the phone.

Your newer credit cards are pin and chip, the magnetic strip is old school.

Maybe this is a crazy idea, but why wouldn't you just plug your iPhone into the USB and run CarPlay on the main touch screen?
