Gen2 and Towing - Advice

Other then that I pull my 24’ Tri Toon with it which is the same as towing a barn and does wiggle but that’s mostly do it the 35’s, my 2015 F150 Platinum with 20’s pulled it with less wiggle.

I would assume that trailer would have a weight distributing hitch. Did you hook that up or just throw it on your hitch?

I know it is not what truck was designed for but has anyone done this or has some input.

I have 2.5 eibach coils with +3 Deavers. My boat is about 5500llbs without trailer. It sags it about 2”. Drives and rides nice. Before the Deavers it would put it 1” from the bump stops. Scary ride.

Looks like a awesome setup. I ordered the stage 3 setup from RPG.... I have hooked it up and it tows fine but does sag more than I prefer.

I towed this past weekend for the first time. Boat and trailer are 4500 lbs give or take. I'm using a 4 inch drop. Didn't seem to sag one bit.

How much tongue weight? Most boats are heavier at the back due to the engine(s), so the tongue weight is low compared to other trailers.

Don’t know. My guess is 400-500. I have a spare, two anchors, etc up front. That is also why you don’t need a weight distributing hitch for boats and can usually tow a lot more boat.

Regardless I see an awful lot of people on here and other places with car or toy trailers who overload the tongue and make the rear sag. People need to learn to balance the load in their trailers as well as using the right drop.

Did your truck bottom out during your trip?
