Do any of you guys know if the Stage 1 Whipple kit would be faster than an MPT tune only car? Obviously there are more parts included in the Whipple Kit but I know that the MPT tune makes more power tune for tune against Whipple. I just want to know how it compares tune only vs whipple kit.

Thanks for any input on this

Don't understand your question Kamil. Are you asking how only loading the Whipple Tune file (and gapping the plugs) but without installing the air intake or intercooler would compare with loading the MPT tune file?

In other words, how does the Whipple Stage 1 calibration only ($850 includes Tomahawk flash tool) compare to the MPT 1x tune ($200) or 3x tunes ($300) (include the nGauge Programmer / DataLogger) ???

Based only on feedback on this forum, the MPT tune should be faster initially but would fall on its face pretty fast from heat soak, whereas the Whipple kit would have significantly more IC capacity so would keep performance levels high for much longer.

Catching up on this thread...don't really want to get back to the Water Wetter discussion and who's smarter (or dumber)...but...found this interesting. Thought some of you might too:

"For our test we rounded up four of the most popular cooling additive products on the market: Red Line Water Wetter, DEI Radiator Relief, Hy-per Lube Super Coolant, and Justice Brothers Radiator Cooler. We tested these products mixed with both a 30/70 antifreeze/water mixture and mixed with water alone."

Why not just get a bigger radiator?

It's not a coolant temp issue. It is the charged air from the turbo that gets heat soak when the stock inner cooler runs out of capacity. That heat creates higher intake air temperatures which in turn makes the computer retard the timing to reduce knock and thus reducing power.

Ok. So how's the water wetter going to help?

It should reduce charge temps and keep the computer from pulling timing.
