So- These things sound like a Chevy Camaro from the 90's with a straight pipe lol.

In the BMW world, We have installed "rasp eliminator" pipes on the S54 M3s to get rid of the "tingy" noise they make. Essentially a resonator.

So, what can be done to essentially smooth out the exhaust note to eliminate the "camaro" noise these things make?

Drone can be effectively eliminated by using a Helmholtz resonator tuning solution- and I'm wondering if it'll have an affect onto the raspy noise these things produce when the truck has free flowing exhaust. I need to peek under the truck and see if there is a location to put an adjustable helmholtz exhaust resonator in, and tune it effectively to find the happy spot for a mellow tone.

Unfortunately those videos have a potato microphone and the sound quality really isn't there.

You know...

That post of Sasquatch is reasonably helpful. For anyone looking for a quiet Performance exhaust... that's a good showcase...

I feel kind of bad for you Sasquatch. I can't figure out what motivates you. Everyone rags on you.
You post goofy things repeatedly... and you keep coming back.

Where do you have the time? Is it entertainment? Are you really just a fifteen year old kid off school for the summer having fun? Are you a grown man.... but totally creepy and unable to have a social life?

Id love to know more about you. I'm intrigued.

It is, and I'm not discrediting his effort- but the audio quality of some of the vids don't really help.

I'm trying to avoid this:

blat. blat. blat.

yuck

Make more like this (kinda):

https://youtu.be/I0sQ8Wn0sO4?t=3m38s

Notice it's note is more smoothed out?
Wish it sounded like a straight 6 :(

I’d love to think that he/she will stop with the trolling but I’m not holding my breath.

Honestly, I didn’t watch the videos but won’t complain about the effort. In fact, it’s worth a thanks.

Sasquatch77 still needs to reevaluate life priorities and definitely get over the Raptor fixation, hatred of Ford, the 3.5TT gen 1 and 2 and get professional help for this. There’s more to life than the internet and delighting in other peoples’ misfortune - keep in mind he/she has a history of liking posts discussing someone’s misfortune, misery or problems. That’s probably the more sadistic personality in dominance at the time of the “like”.

Downpipes with stock cat back sounded best to me so far. Everything else seems like too much of the wrong kind of noise.

Honestly the ford performance touring system really mellows out the truck. If you are going for straight comfort. They design the kit, borla builds it. Quality stuff.

Smurf,

I have the FOMOCO touring system sitting in a box.
It's good for 12 horsepower. Borla is too big of a name to make that up. It has the same increase as their home grown options.

Early reports are that the down pipes aren't really doing anything. 5-10 horsepower. There just isn't much to get from the ENTIRE exhaust system because Ford engineered it pretty darn top notch from the factory.

That being said... I'll let you know how it all pairs together... the touring exhaust. The five star tune and the AFE intake. I'm pretty sure the combo will yield a high 4 second truck. 4.8-5.... that's pretty good...
