What y'all are describing was a noise I had when my '13 Limited was tuned by 5 Star. I hated hearing it as I didn't know what it was, but I knew it probably shouldn't be there. Each time I tried logging to send, it of course wouldn't rear its ugly head. And I tried a lot. I never had any issues, just that sound from time to time. I got rid of the truck and picked up the '14 Raptor at 43k miles.

Any new info with these high rpm issues? Curious to hear what it is. I'm itching to tune mine but don't think the calibrations are quite there yet.

No idea.

I have an MPT tune and have no abnormal sounds or other issues.

It’s just flat out fast.

Reading all this and looking at the MPT dyno graph, I am both excited and trepidatious... looking at how lean they're running that 93PRX tune has me REALLY puckered.

That said, I'll gladly admit that this is the first time I have really looked in-depth at the tuning of a DI motor, so maybe it's the DI that's letting them get away with it... but for comparison's sake, whereas the 93PRX dyno shows ~15:1 A/F for most of the pull, I am used to seeing 13:1-12.5:1 on naturally aspirated motors... boosted motors are usually between half a point and a full point richer still.

However, it seems like only a relative few have had detonation problems, and MPT has addressed those, so maybe I'm overthinking it...

How's driveline holding up

Ordered an 18 supercab with all the goodies 2 weeks ago from my local dealer here in Central NJ. After reading all the positive feedback Im all in on this Mpt tune as soon as I get her broken in. I'm doing it regardless, but has anyone had any trans or driveline issues with the tune? I searched but didn't see any. Such a huge power increase over stock, do we know what the max torque the 10 speed trans is rated to handle? I apologize if this has been covered already. Thanks for any replies in advance.

I found a spec sheet on the 10 speed with a torque rating listed as 800 newton meters, which is around 590 lb-ft. Looks like the performance tune gets close to that assuming a 20% drivetrain loss. Its good to know that the trans 'should' hold up with the tune. That was my only concern with doing it but it's looking good.

You do know MPT does not have a tune yet for your '18? Should be soon...but just want you to know what has been said previously in this thread.

Hey all

So been reading this thread with Guy.

I ordered and '18 so i know the MPT tune is not yet avaliable. However i know literally nothing about tunes so had a couple of noob questions.

- Does this void the warranty in any way?

- What are the risks?

- Is it easy to do and switch back if needed?

- how does it compare to pedal commander?

Sorry again but as exciting as this sounds I also want to be careful with such an expensive vehicle.

Yes, it will void the warranty if you break something. You can fight it all you want, but Ford will win this.

Stay stock... you will need your warranty more than anyone cares to admit. Throw some Flowmaster mufflers on to fix the sound and call it done.

1. Yes.

2. It can explode and or break drivline related components.

3. Yes but evidence of doing so will be present in the computers memory.

4. Way better.. no comparison.
