GEN 2 Ecoboost 3.5 HO Details

I know that the HO version has a shorter stroke which reduces the CR to 10:1. However what are the other intimate and important differences that make this engine different than one in a King Ranch or Lariat?

Do the heads flow better?

Are the cam shafts different?

Is the intake and Throttle body different?

Turbos- are they bigger or have different impellers?

Also, are the blocks aluminum or compact graphite?

Shorter stroke??? Not likely. Different pistons perhaps.

It has a shorter rod length. It's in the Ford Website

Stroke is the distance the piston travels, and this is determined by the crank. The stroke may be the same, but the displacement/compression ratio may be altered by changing the length of the rod.

Nope. Crank affects stroke, not the rod.

Let's talk about the heads and cam etc. The rods are indeed shorter, if the stroke is the same great.

Shorter rod could just mean different pin placement on the piston and may equal the same stroke
