GEN 2 Water leak in my new truck

Well. 400 miles on it, and the back seat carpet was wet. suck.

A little snooping around and I found the left rear sunroof drain wasn't even hooked up.

MORE snooping around and I found the right rear vent in the back of the cab wasn't clipped in. LOTS of water from that.

Ended up pulling the C pillars off and fixing it myself. Dried out the carpet and put it back together again.

Hopefully this isn't a bad omen. I'll post up picks later when I get home.

I read somewhere on here someone else had a problem with the rear cabin vent not being clipped in causing a leak. I'll have to keep my eye out for that one.

Yes, these water leaks are common.

It's easy to inspect. look between the bed and cab with a flashlight for the boxes. about 6x4 or so. there is a rubber seal that MUST be touching the cab. any distance between will leak. pop passenger seat down and pull jack stuff. flip jute out of the way and you can see the clips. I took them and popped them up further than what they sit on the step as designed, they won't pop back out afterwards.

Sucks I had to find this out the hard way :/

so, heres a few pics of what I was talking about.

Whats that white thing in the pic? A paper towel.
I'd also suggest to put one in your truck and periodically check it after a wash or rain to see if your truck leaks.

It's common, but not common enough for me to have that issue on my 06, 11, 14 or 17 F150s. :biggrin:

As someone who went through a sunroof leak that led to other issues with another manufacturer, I feel for you OP.
