I pulled 14' enclosed trailer from WI to FL and back and averaged over 10MPG. 36a7f8d89d8ecb2cd00917ea94df608a.jpg

I tow a little, but I find it important to balance the trailer tongue weight or you can feel more sway, even with the WDH.

To the OP:
Where you using Tow mode?
What gear and rpm where running?
Sometimes manually dropping a gear will let the eng run easier and might get a little better mileage...

Yes, all in tow mode. Didn't check rpms or gears.

MPG was actually 8.6 avg after checking the truck computer. I am pleased with how it ran. Didn't get the Raptor to haul all over. Except haul butt in the desert.

Altitude, weather, and terrain very likely could be causing the disparity in MPGs. OP should post where he towed, which route, etc. to have an accurate comparison.
I didn't get my Rappy to tow, other than maybe my flat bed with my RZR or maybe the Scout from time to time. That's why I have the Super Duty.

Towed from Vegas to Southern Utah up the I-15 and back and around the 2 lane roads there. There are climbs and flat parts to the highways.

Say more about dropping a gear. Why would making the engine rev higher be better for mpg?

Towing mode doesn't improve MPG's, neither does dropping a gear manually.
