Radar detectors?

Here's the bottom line on the reviews. The ****** RedLine (just discontinued) is the best for ultimate distance. I tried one but returned it because it doesn't have GPS and lockout which drove me NUTS in town and a bizzilion false alerts from speed cameras, etc.

I've had a half dozen Escorts, so I like that company. So I bought the Max360 and like it. I just got nailed for the first time in 40 years of driving with an RD. Why? The CHP was a hunter and tagged me with I/O as soon as we were on top of each other. Nothing could be done, and no RD will help in that situation since I was running alone at 83.

Vortex Radars does an incredible job with reviews and you can really see them put through the paces on his YouTube channel.

Yeah, the V1 is at the top of the heap as well, but most will say that it has a lot of feature tweaking and understanding that can only be done with a 3rd party app ANDROID ONLY...BOOOOO!

****** Live is ok, and their app is ok too but really not needed.

If money isn't an issue, the Max360 will serve you well.
If just brute force is what you want, RedLine with the tweaked settings by Vector.
For a long standing winner, virtually unchanged RD, the V1.

I am going the old fashion route to get out of tickets... name dropping. Can't afford all these fancy detectors.

I inly run radar on highways and love the Redline - it can't be beat plus can't be detected in states like VA where RDs are illegal.

It is being discontinued by ******. Unsure if a new Redline is coming.

@BajaFred the Uniden R1/R3 units appear to be consistently outperforming the Redline and other top units plus offering internal GPS etc. The units are prerelease test units, but the hardware is final.

Multiple threads here on the question, a little search as a radar detector doesn't matter if a GEN1 or GEN2 or any vehicle for that matter.

I have an ****** 9500xi with ****** Live that I move from my Raptor and Mustang. Having the bluetooth adapter is helpful to make changes to the detector easily. Was extemely helpful yesterday when I drove home from TRR at 90-100, making the trip about 7hrs for 600 miles.

V1 is the best.

Definitely read your manual and learn to disable X band, makes it quieter around town, unless you're in the one or two states that use X band.

The new V1 units have good filtering that blocks out most of the car radar cruise control/blind spot monitoring too. Occasionally I get a Tahoe or Yukon that gives me a false positive but it's pretty rare.

If you want to save a few pennies, they will sell you a return unit for 10% off, but you have to call. I usually do that and save $40.
