I took a chance this evening on my way home and stopped by Planet Ford, which is north of Houston on I-45. They have a couple hundred F150s on their lot and claim to be the largest seller of Ford trucks in the country. (Possibly)
They had an Avalanche Screw (sold) with way too many options, but it was a nice looking Raptor. This was my first chance to see a 2017 and I will say they look much better in person! (After seeing the truck for myself, I told my wife I am getting one when the time is right)
The sticker was $68K ($51K + 17K in options) and the salesperson who was guarding the truck said they were getting $10K over. I told her I would wait until they came down to normal pricing and she asked what was "normal". When I said $1-2K under sticker, she told me she doubted that would happen by the end of next year due to tight allocations. I laughed and said, I ordered my 2010 6.2L for $2500 under sticker when the pricing calmed down on the Gen 1s, so I would take my chances.
If you live in the Spring, TX area, she mentioned the buyer was not picking it up until next week, so it will be available for drooling over the holiday weekend. Park in the back and walk to the front of the lot if you do not want to be hassled by their overly aggressive sales staff.
