Locking out gears

I accidentally pressed the - button on the gear selector madness notice the dash now read 1-9. So I guess you can manually lock out gears? Will it shift for you at high rpms? Also I notice if I press + the display eventually turns off. Does it just turn the display off or does something else happen? Thanks

Yes when it counts down it will only go up to that gear and then stop. It'll rev completely out and will not shift.

And when it goes away that's just in case you didn't want to see it at all
