what is the ideal drop hitch height for a stock raptor , with a light duty 12' trailer . 4" drop or 5" . I'm looking at a plain steel drop hitch , non adjustable

Your trailer tongue height will dictate the appropriate drop length/height.

I use a four inch any lower it scrapes in some driveways and some gas stations. You don't want to go too low.
